At a gathering at the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee headquarters, Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized that the global landscape in 2025 remains rapid, complex, and unpredictable. Yet Viet Nam has stayed firm in safeguarding macroeconomic stability, sustaining robust growth, expanding external relations, and elevating its international profile.

These achievements form a solid foundation for localities, especially Ho Chi Minh City, to confidently embark on a new stage of development

The event was also attended by Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee

For the city, 2025 was a year of synergy, convergence, and transformation. Its development space was expanded, while new potential, resources, and growth drivers were activated.

Socio-economic performance recorded many positive outcomes: GRDP grew by 8.03%, contributing nearly 24% to the country’s overall GDP growth; state budget revenue exceeded VND 800 trillion; GRDP per capita reached nearly US$8,800; and FDI inflows ranked first nationwide at nearly US$8.2 billion, including more than US$2 billion invested in science and technology, digital transformation, and innovation.

Notably, the International Financial Center has begun operations, raising expectations for the emergence of a new regional-scale growth pole.

Entering 2026, Ho Chi Minh City is targeting double-digit growth, pursuing rapid yet sustainable development, building a living and investment environment that meets global city standards, and placing science and technology, innovation, and green transformation at the core of its strategy.

According to Mr. Duoc, to turn that aspiration into reality, the city will require even deeper and broader cooperation from international partners.

Ho Chi Minh City hopes foreign representative offices will remain trusted bridges—deepening mutual understanding, expanding trade and investment, promoting technology transfer, developing high-quality human resources, and fostering future-oriented industries.

Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc stressed that the city will vigorously improve its investment climate, ensure transparency and stability, maintain regular dialogue, swiftly resolve obstacles, and create the most favorable conditions for long-term, effective cooperation.

In the warm spirit of the early spring gathering, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to the "envoys" who have nurtured Ho Chi Minh City's international friendship and cooperation.
