Nguyen Van Duoc re-elected chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee
(NLDO) - On the morning of March 30, the first session of the 11th Ho Chi Minh City People's Council (2026-2031 term) was held at the Ho Chi Minh City Hall.
Attending the session was Politburo Member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Tran Luu Quang.
During the session, the council proceeded to elect key positions under its authority, including leadership posts of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 2026–2031 term.

Nguyen Van Duoc, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee (10th tenure, 2021-2026), has been elected to continue serving as Chairman for the 11th tenure (2026-2031).
Born on April 3, 1968, Mr. Duoc is a native of Long An Province. He holds an advanced qualification in political theory, along with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Geology.

Key leaders of the newly elected Ho Chi Minh City People's Council make debut
At the first session of the 11th Ho Chi Minh City People's Council (2026–2031 term) held on the morning of March 30, the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Council was officially introduced.
The Standing Committee consists of nine members. Vo Van Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, serves as Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council.
The Vice Chairpersons include Nguyen Van Tho, Nguyen Van Dung, Huynh Thanh Nhan, and Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong.
The Standing Committee also comprises heads of the People's Council's specialized boards, namely: Nguyen Cong Danh, Member of the Municipal Party Committee and Head of the Economic-Budgetary Affairs Committee; Cao Thanh Binh, Head of the Culture-Social Affairs Committee; Pham Quynh Anh, Head of the Legal Affairs Committee; and Hoang Tung, Head of the Urban Affairs Committee.
