On April 29, Ho Chi Minh City held a groundbreaking ceremony for a series of large-scale projects, commemorating the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026).

The groundbreaking ceremony was held in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation across multiple locations.
Specifically, at the intersection of Nguyen Co Thach Street and Mai Chi Tho Street in An Khanh Ward, the ceremony marked the commencement of Ho Chi Minh City’s Metro Line 2 project (Ben Thanh - Thu Thiem section), as well as Component Project 4 (the Central Square) under the Central Square and City Administrative Center development project.
At Nha Rong Wharf in Xom Chieu Ward, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for the renovation and upgrading project of the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City Branch, along with the announcement of the decision approving the investor for the Can Gio International Transshipment Port project.
At the same time, in Xuan Thoi Son Commune, a groundbreaking ceremony was also held for the Berjaya International University Township project.
The organization of these large-scale and significant ceremonies is intended to foster a strong spirit of emulation, reflecting the determination and coordinated engagement of Ho Chi Minh City’s entire political system in implementing the resolutions of the 14th National Party Congress and the City Party Congress.
