(NLĐO) - Any changes to the scope or specific items during implementation of the plan must be reported and approved by the relevant authorities.

Ho Chi Minh City will spend more than VND 2.12 trillion in 2025 to repair roads and bridges, aiming to ensure traffic safety and upgrade urban infrastructure.

The municipal People's Committee has just issued this plan, which prioritizes the maintenance of numerous deteriorating streets and bridges across the city.

The city will give priority to completing repair projects carried over from the previous year, especially those involving areas where accidents or safety concerns have occurred.

Key projects in this group include Tran Quang Dieu Bridge (District 3), Phu Dinh Bridge (District 6), and roads such as Lac Long Quan, Ta Uyen, Hung Vuong (Districts 5 and 11), as well as Nguyen Du, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia (Districts 1 and 3), and Tran Hung Dao (District 1).

At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City will launch several new road repair projects on routes such as Vo Tran Chi (Binh Tan District), Tay Thanh (Tan Phu District), National Highway 22, and Provincial Road 15 (Cu Chi District).

Some severely damaged sites have been added to the list of emergency repairs, including Ba Bo Bridge (Binh Tan District), Pham Van Chi Bridge (District 6), and the underpass beneath Khanh Hoi Bridge (District 4), which needs renovation to increase clearance height.

Other areas include Phu Huu and Go Cong streets (District 5), and a section of National Highway 1 through District 12.

In addition to repair work, the city will conduct structural inspections on over 50 bridges to assess their current condition and prepare for large-scale maintenance and repair in the near future.

In Districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, Tan Binh, Tan Phu, and Binh Tan, the bridge inspection list includes Le Van Sy Bridge, Bong Bridge, the new Dua Bridge, the pedestrian bridge in front of Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital, the Truong Son – Tan Son Nhat steel overpass, Hau Giang Bridge, and Ong Buong 1 and Ong Buong 2 Bridges.

In Thu Duc City, Go Dua 1 and 2 bridges will undergo inspection; in Binh Thanh District, the Saigon Bridge will be assessed; and in District 4, the Tan Thuan 1 Bridge is on the inspection list.

In other districts such as Phu Nhuan, Go Vap, 12, Hoc Mon, and Cu Chi, the condition assessments will cover bridges like An Phu Dong 1 and 2, Giao Khau, and Cho Cau 1, 2.

Meanwhile, in the southern part of the city—including Districts 7 and 8, Nha Be, Binh Chanh, and Can Gio—load testing will be carried out on bridges such as D1, D6, 42A, 42B, Xa Tinh, and those spanning from Canal 7 to Canal 10.

The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has instructed that any changes to the scope or specific items during implementation must be reported and approved by the relevant authorities. The Department of Construction is tasked with monitoring, supervising, and compiling the results of this plan.
