The closing ceremony of the training course “Teaching Methods for Vietnamese Language Education for Children of Vietnamese Expatriates” took place online recently, gathering more than 500 teachers from 30 countries and territories.
The program was co-organized by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, Japan, and the Global Network for Teaching Vietnamese Language and Preserving Vietnamese Culture.
Speaking at the event, Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka Vu Chi Mai stressed that preserving and promoting Vietnamese within the overseas community is a "sacred mission that connects younger generations with their roots."

Consul General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen, Thailand, Dinh Hoang Linh, said the course offered teachers the chance to learn modern teaching methods, thereby fostering love for the homeland among younger generations.
Over nearly two months (July 26–September 20), the program featured five key online sessions and drew more than 550 participants. Hundreds of assignments were submitted, creating a shared pool of teaching materials.
Many participants expressed their heartfelt appreciation at the closing ceremony.

Venerable Thich Phap Quang, Abbot of Truc Lam Monastery in Sri Lanka, noted that although the local Vietnamese community numbers fewer than 200, three Vietnamese classes are maintained for more than 60 children. "This training course has given us access to systematic curricula and invaluable experiences shared by colleagues worldwide," he said.
At the ceremony, the organizers also unveiled upcoming initiatives, including the launch of the Global Network for Teaching Vietnamese Language and Culture on September 29, the creation of a global map of Vietnamese language classes, the digitization of teaching materials, and the organization of regular training programs.
Participants who completed all sessions and submitted their assignments will receive certificates of completion.
