Politburo member, Secretary of the Government Party Committee and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on August 30 attended a ceremony announcing and presenting the decision to assign Le Hoai Trung, member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat and Chief of the Party Central Committee Office, to work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs.
At the ceremony, Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra announced Prime Minister's Decision No. 1868 dated August 29 on receiving Dr. Le Hoai Trung to take up his new post at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and serve as Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs.
She also announced Decision No. 347 of the Party Committee of the Government on assigning him to join the Party Committee and Standing Board of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and to hold the position of Secretary of the Ministry's Party Committee for the 2025–2030 tenure.

Congratulating Dr. Le Hoai Trung, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed that Le Hoai Trung is a senior Party official with strong political resolve, integrity and strategic vision, who has received professional training in diplomacy.
Over 43 years of service, he has gained extensive and comprehensive experience in foreign affairs and has always shown dedication, responsibility and determination in fulfilling the tasks entrusted by the Party and State.
The Prime Minister expressed his hope that Acting Minister Le Hoai Trung and the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to uphold the pioneering and vital role of diplomacy in the new era, contributing to the fulfillment of the two centenary goals, and to expanding the country's development space, creating opportunities for integration, and serving the nation's strategic breakthroughs in the coming period.
In his remarks, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung underlined that the tasks ahead for the diplomatic sector are very heavy, given the rapidly changing international and regional situation, as well as the domestic efforts to successfully implement the resolutions of the 13th National Party Congress and make good preparations for the 14th National Congress.
He pledged to work together with the ministry's leadership, officials and staff to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted by the Party, the State, the Government and the Prime Minister.
Earlier, the State President issued a decision allowing Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son to temporarily cease serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs until the 15th National Assembly considers his dismissal from the position.
