As part of a series of major projects launched to mark the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2, Sun Group has just broken ground on the Da Nang Downtown cultural, entertainment, and high-end commercial complex on August 19 in Da Nang.
With an investment of nearly VND 80 trillion and spanning more than 76 hectares, the project’s highlight will be a 69-story tower rising 408 meters, expected to become the second-tallest building in Vietnam, after Ho Chi Minh City’s Landmark 81 (461 meters). The building is envisioned as a new architectural icon for central Vietnam, enhancing Da Nang’s international profile.

Perspective of Da Nang Downtown project
Da Nang Downtown is located on the Han River, between the Tran Thi Ly and Tien Son bridges—a location often called the "center of the center"—in Hoa Cuong ward.
The project will feature a cultural and entertainment park, a 9,000-square-meter theater with 4,000 seats, a riverside retail promenade, a museum, an exhibition center, green spaces, and a network of high-end tourism and hospitality services.

The project's highlight is a 69-story tower, 408m high, which is expected to be the second tallest building in Vietnam
Sun Group plans to host outdoor art shows, fireworks displays, and nighttime economic activities, transforming the area into a leading vibrant destination in the region.
The iconic tower's design is inspired by the Five Elements (Wu Xing) and the traditional white áo dài. The top of the tower is shaped like a flame, where sunlight shines through like a lighthouse.

The project site is located right next to the Han River, opposite the Tien Son Sports Palace
The interior of the building will integrate a 5-star hotel, Grade A offices, luxury apartments, a shopping center, restaurants, bars, an observatory, and a conference and events area, creating an "all-in-one" destination.
From August 19 to September 2, Da Nang will hold groundbreaking ceremonies for six key projects to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day.
Those projects are:
- The Expansion of the Chu Lai Truong Hai Automobile Mechanical Industrial Park Project
- The relocation area serving the North-South high-speed railway project in Dien Ban Bac Ward
- The Da Nang downtown cultural, amusement, high-end commercial, and service park project
- The Ba Na - Suoi Mo ecological and urban tourism complex Project
- The apartment building project on land plots C1, C2 in the Phu My An urban area
- The social housing project on land plots B4-1, B4-2 in the Hoa Hiep 4 resettlement area.
On this occasion, the city will also break ground on the Inter-level Ethnic Boarding School in Tay Giang commune.
